I just wanted to tell you that you're doing a good thing here. I am 26 years old and I have been using drugs and alcohol for 12 years and only now am I starting to try and get my life back together. Anyway, I read your site and it has helped me on my difficult journey to
happiness.
Your website is comprehensive and very helpful. Thank you.
I wanted to say thanks for a great website I have recently been a victim of someone I love who has a problem with alcohol. It actually helped me to realise there is someone out there who cares and has got me through the night knowing I'm not the guilty party and don't have to feel it was my fault. I feel I can go to bed and get some sleep and it's assisted me to cope with
another day. You gave me hope for the future.
Hi
I just wanted to tell you I wrote about a month ago and found that your site helped me. I thought you would like to know that I went to visit Aquarius to seek help as my ex-boyfriend had a problem with alcohol and I had to contend with that. I now have a contact for Al Anon - a self help group - and Im going to visit them soon. Also my ex-boyfriend has stopped drinking
completely and we are trying to become friends. It must be nice to hear from people and how their lives are evolving from a tragic situation called alcohol.
Thanks for listening
Hi there,
I finally found you, without knowing you were there. I just knew there had to be such a great site somewhere. I am 29 years old. I have been sober for a little more than two months. I used to drink a lot, do ecstasy, cocaine, speed, and some weed. If it wasn't one it was the other or several on top of each other. Well, I had a gruesome bad-trip on an ecstasy pill and said: STOP.
I am currently doing what I can by myself to get my life back to normal. Actually, I have read a lot on this great web-site.
Great web site, easy to use and very informative. keep up the good work.
Thank you and God Bless you and Keep you.....and may He bless your site to help others. I think I'm going to put you on my web site and hope that other's may find peace and freedom in their lives through the help of your site.
God Bless You....
Let me tell you that your web site is dynamite, one of the best and most personal I've come across.
Many thanks for the information available.
I am 31 years old and have suffered alcohol related illness. Thankfully my wife stood by me and helped. I sought help from my doctor. I took a short script for a benzodiazepine which helped the come-down. With the assistance of a local alcohol counseling group I've managed to eradicate the problem drinking and stay 'clean'. I won't say I'm dry but I can now control what was a problem. There are others in my family that now have chronic drug/alcohol problems but I hope my experience can help them.
All I can say is... 'IF YOU NEED HELP, ASK'. Family and friends will be more willing to help you get over this than watch you kill yourself.
Love to you all. Keep well.
Excellent job guys, I,am a recoverying alcoholic for about 1.5 years. I was on the net doing research for a paper on alcohol abuse and came across your site and was impressed. Thanks for your info and its great to see other people take this illness seriously.
Hey I think what you have here is FANTASTIC !!! Your site really opened my eyes. When I was reading , it actually felt as if someone was telling me, instead of me reading. I just want to say THANKS. I needed a Reality check....
Thank you very much for this very useful text. I work in a prison where the subject of drug abuse comes up all the time. I have felt for sometime that I needed to find out more in order to help and understand the problem.
Hi I am doctor / 40 y / and yesterday was the first time I visit your website. I found it very, very good and intristing. I have some patients which are drug-depends and I hope I find some help with your pages. Keep on.
I have to congratulate you on such a great page. My girlfriend had a problem with alcohol (not a very serious problem, but a problem none the less) and I really wanted to nip it in the bud before it got too bad. This page helped immensely and I can't thank you all enough.
My mom was addicted to drugs and through this wild adventure I have been there through all the
times when it was the worst. This has made me want to become a drug and alcohol abuse councelor to either help the person who is addicted or the family of the person who is addicted.
This web site has helped me to see things that can help me later on in life. Thanks!!!!
Actually I just visited your website due to project work. Your website was superb plus wonderful. It's very informative and just suitable for teenagers!
I came across your drug abuse web site and I want you to know is has given me such hope! A family member is an abuser and i have not known what to do. I have taken them to the dr. 2 times for help. The dr. has suggested counceling and a treatment center. The abuser is not interested yet...
Thank you for the information. Hopefully I can get my family member to read some of your stuff, but until then you have at least given me some "tools" to deal with the situation.
Thank you so much.....
Excellent web site, lots of facts, just the ticket. Cheers
I found this wedsite very good as I felt very hopeless, of what to do next. I have got tougher with my son, but your web site has reinforced this and has made me feel stronger to go forward. And to remember other members of my family who need me as well. Thank You
I think it is a great site. One of the best I've found.
Hello. Well I just wanted to email you about your site. This is the best site I have been to about drug abuse. I am here because I have to do a speech for a class about it and I didnt know to much info about it. I have also been thinking about experimenting with some drugs so I thought that by doing a speech I would learn about it well I definately learned so much at your site and thank you It helped me alot! I loved the real life stories also. It also made me feel comfortable reading it it was not a bunch of boring statistics either it was a real life thing and I loved it! Thanks again!
This is *** ******* just saying what a great web page on drugs!!!
Dear Recovery - Thank you for making a site I can finally understand. I really enjoyed reading this and you made it possible. I felt like you were talking to just me. I too have lost some friends to drugs and its horrible cause I am a teenager watching people use everyday. Even though parents think they understand because they listen and they watch those movies on TV. They think they know what's going on and how to handle it. But they don't. No one does,
only us - only the kids. We see it, we live though it everyday. Each one is a struggle to say no. I could get any drug I wanted in a heart beat. Even if I don't want it there's always someone in my face trying to sell it. I know it must be hard to raise a teenager in this day and age but trust me, its even harder to be one!
I enjoyed the site very much. I work for a Correction Center, and there are many recovering Drug and Alcohol addicts there. I thought if I looked it up on the net maybe I could understand them a little bit better. Thanks for the insight.
Well Done !! I have been searching the web for a long time now to find a site as informative and effective as this. Most of the sites are from the States and although they have been helpful they are not as concise as this and certainly not as easy to work with. Your site is fun and effective - thanks for taking the time to make a difference to so many people.
Wow. This will be posted in my office and strongly recommended. Thanks for all the work this took to create.
I just want to say that your website is very moving. As a teenager (19 years), who grows up around drugs, whether it be friends or close family members I felt like I wasn't going through this alone. I myself do not do drugs, and sometimes find it hard to let others know how upset I get over the affects they have. I have first hand experience of how drugs can affect peoples lives and feel I have already lost one family member to them. Not lost as in they killed her, but they may as well have done. She is not the same and probably never will be. I hate to see other people I love taking drugs. My close friends and even my boyfriend (from time to time) take drugs. I don't want to loose him like I lost my stepsister, I couldn't cope.
Thank you for taking the time to write such an informative and personal site. I, as I'm sure many others do, appreciate it more than words can say.
Really good site. My brother was a big smack user for 18 years and I did
learn a lot from the age of 13. Also I have experienced a few mates in similar
states and the advice you give is very good and most important realistic.
Also you should advise people, especially families new to the whole drug
thing, that they will be robbed and generally abused.
This was a very insightful trip for me. Your sites are helpful and educational. I hope I never "need" this kind of help, but I will bookmark your sites for future reference.
Hi, What I just read was really very helpful. Especially right now. Yesterday we took our 17 year old son to Rehab. He has been using marijuana for about three years and heroin recently. We are beside ourselves with stress and worry. We love him very much, but realize he is the one that has to take responsibility for his actions. I pray this rehab. will help him.
Got a lot.....a lot, a lot (from your site). It's the most I've learned since I've been plunged into this particular nightmare, thanks to my 20 yr. old son who is presently cooling his heels in jail due to conviction earlier this week of possessing marijuana and meth.
My 18 yr. old son just asked me the difference between crack cocaine, and regular cocaine, and asked me what Ecstasy was, so back to the computer I went to access your site again so that I can answer his questions.
We have sought on-line support groups to no avail, but I was very glad to find your site, and learn so much. I feel less hopeful about my son being able to kick this habit without help, but I also feel that I'm prepared for whatever happens.
To whomever it may concern,
I just wanted to let you know that I think your website is awesome!!! I reallly love it.
Well for one thing I don't take any type of drug at all and I don't plan to. I came to this website to find information on Alcohol because I am in Health in school and I needed some signs and symptoms on the drug and some pictures even. Well thanks a lot and I hope this site tells teens to never ever try drugs and what they do to your body.
Hi, I was doing an assignment on drug abuse and I came across your site.
It was extremely helpful.
I could relate to pretty much everything that you have covered over the pages. My best friend who I've been best friends with for my whole life (16yrs) is a drug user and she has changed in everything that she does. She failed year 12 she got an OP of 22. I would loved to have
found this site about 5 years ago but I can now help her and my other friends.
THANK YOU!
Thank you so very much for your informative and helpful website.
My niece, 26, has just gone through detoxification for heroin, in a drug dependency unit. She is extremely poorly and has been taken back into a general hospital today.
Neither my sister nor I know much, if anything, about drug abuse. Your site has been a great help. I have noted the addresses for more help.
My sister feels responsible and ashamed, of herself, as well as of her daughter. I know when she reads your site she will realise that she is not alone and that what she is feeling is what thousands of other parents feel. I know your site will be a great help to her.
Thank you again.
