Do you wonder if cannabis is harmless
?
Well, it's true that you're not likely to drop down dead if you take cannabis.
BUT . . . using cannabis is still harmful - in lots of ways.
- Cannabis is more toxic than nicotine and heavy use can damage the brain. This is because cannabis is fat soluble - it stores itself where there is fat in our bodies. Our brain is one third fatty tissue, so cannabis clings to this and can distort our brain cells, stopping them from growing properly. This can seriously affect our memory and other brain functions.
- Using cannabis can make you feel shy, anxious or even paranoid. If you are a shy person in the first place, then it can affect you very badly.
- If you use cannabis you are much more likely to use other drugs, such as ecstasy, amphetamines, L.S.D, cocaine, crack or heroin.
- Also - we shouldn't forget that cannabis is illegal. Although it is no longer listed along with heroin as a Class A drug, it is still illegal - and if you use it, you can end up in big trouble.
What we are saying is that cannabis IS harmful
- and we suggest that you think about the risks involved if you are using it already, or are thinking about trying it.
